Judy Barbee Stringer

Judy Barbee Stringer, 75 passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born November 13, 1943 in Lapel, Indiana to the late William and Nancy Galliher Barbee. Judy was a longtime resident of Savannah and worked for Archdale’s Restaurant for many years, and retired from A.L. Hanson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lynwood Stringer, three sisters, Barbara Harrison, Mary Harger, Marie Heater, and four brothers, James Barbee, Leroy Barbee, Johnny Barbee, and Sherman Barbee.

Surviving are two daughters, Tracy Jernigan, and Kimberly Stringer, both of Savannah, four granddaughters, Brittany and Brandi Jernigan, and Kristen and Karen Beaty, all of Savannah; one sister, Sally Mae Linkenhoker, of Savannah, one brother, Frank Barbee (Juanita), of Valdosta; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Fox & Weeks, Islands Chapel.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2018 at Fox & Weeks, Islands Chapel.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Remembrances may be made to the American Association for the Blind.
